Overview
Race By Any Means uses the information you provide to create training plans, explain workouts, track progress, and improve the guidance shown to you. We do not sell your personal data, show targeted advertising, or use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we may receive your name, email address, and Apple account identifier. You can also use the app through an anonymous session.
- Profile and training information. This may include age, sex, height, weight, goals, schedule, available equipment, injuries or limitations, and other notes you provide.
- Fitness and performance information. This may include race results and splits, training plans, workout logs, pace and completion data, readiness check-ins, fatigue, pain feedback, and related coaching responses.
- User content. This may include race-result photos and free-form text you submit for analysis or coaching.
- Identifiers. We use account, athlete, and app-generated device identifiers to keep your session working and associate your data with the correct profile. We do not use the Apple advertising identifier for tracking.
Location and run tracking
If you enable run tracking, the app may use precise location on your device to measure the run. Detailed route points remain on the device. The service receives aggregate workout information, such as duration and completed work, rather than your precise route.
How we use information
- Authenticate you or maintain an anonymous session.
- Create and personalize training plans and coaching.
- Read race results and summarize performance.
- Sync plans, workouts, check-ins, and progress across sessions.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and support the service.
Service providers
We use service providers only to operate app features:
- OpenAI processes prompts, coaching context, and race-result images used by AI features.
- Supabase supports authentication and stores app data used to provide your profile, plans, and workout history.
- Railway hosts the app's API service.
- Apple provides optional Sign in with Apple and the App Store.
These providers process information according to their agreements and privacy practices. Data submitted through the OpenAI API is not used to train OpenAI models unless the API account owner explicitly opts in.
Race-result images
A race-result image is sent for processing when you choose to upload it. Race By Any Means does not store the original image in its application database. The extracted race information may be saved to your profile and used to personalize training.
Retention and security
We retain profile, plan, race, and workout information while it is needed to operate the service, maintain your history, meet legal obligations, and resolve security or support issues. Service providers may retain request data under their own terms. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Sign in with Apple is optional.
- You can deny or revoke photo and location permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can avoid uploading race-result images and enter results manually.
- You can request access to or deletion of account data through the support page.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The latest version and effective date will remain available on this page.
